I will not be at school tomorrow so I'm blogging today! Today is our Christmas party and it's going to be a delicious feast of nuggets, fruit, and dessert. I'm actually so excited. This week I have indexed pages, taken teacher superlative pictures, and today I hope on working towards getting junior six degree of separation pictures... I have so many that I need to take. It's crazy. So hopefully I am able to get some help on that because the page is due the day I get back. Also, I need to set up the picture collage and link pictures in because that's due on January seventh :-))))) maybe Alec will set it up.

Week 15 - Blog 2

Well, this week I worked on plenty of stuff. I completed my edits to the teacher section and I'm pretty positive that Grace is almost finished working on our junior section! I also did the photo of the week, and some of the teacher six degree's of separation. I also found out who my secret santa is.. which was no surprise because Zoe is amazing at wrapping and be artistic! This weekend I plan on working on junior six degrees of separation which should take a while.. Hope you guys had a great week, even though it has been a long one. Next week is our last week! FIVE DAYS PRAISE

This week has been a great week. I literally love Grace for helping me with the Junior section, ALTHOUGH it was due yesterday! But we will finish that today (hopefully) and then I need to index some stuff and finish up my teacher section edits! Shoutout to Isabella because I love her and she works so hard.

Today in class I gave Skylar a check for another ad that I have sold! (It is for my brother's senior ad).  I then went on to print the photo of the week, begin on the teacher six degrees of separation and then I also did the little stocking thing that we had to do! It has been a good day so far and I plan on finishing a lot of stuff later at home today.

Today in class I worked on finishing up my interviews and I indexed two pages, I also worked with Grace to finish up the girl's tennis page. Today has been an extremely long day and I hope you all are having a great day. Also, make sure you give love to Cavicchia and do whatever she tells you!

Thank goodness I remembered to do this blog just as I was about to write my blog for AP English... Today in class I worked on the junior mods and I also sold another ad! I was very happy because now my grade isn't as low as it was before! Tip to you all: remember to sell ads like crazy next year and don't sit behind and slack, you should actually do it so you don't get a failing grade or a C which will get you kicked out of the class :-)

Week 11 - Blog 1

Today in class I didn't do much, I went out to sell ads with Megan and Alec and I ended up not selling any but Alec and Megan both got people who were somewhat interested in purchasing and I hope they actually get someone to buy from them because I think Alec hasn't sold any and I think that Megan has sold maybe one or two, but I've only sold one and I need to up my game because I'm pretty positive that's an F grade (but who knows). Helpful tip for when you join us in the upcoming semester or next year: make sure you keep your priorities straight as in spreads and ads and whatnot! As of right now I'm getting somewhat behind in writing copy for two spreads (girl's tennis & the week of last week)

Anyway if any of you guys go to Starbucks anytime soon I suggest getting a grande or venti iced coffee with cream with creme brûlée drizzle (like 3 or 4 pumps of it) it only costs around $3 :-)

Today in class I worked towards finishing my teacher mugs pages which include teachers w/ kids and teacher's who have graduated. I ended up doing some of Sarah's "copy" by accident but it was only just names so it's no big deal. I also need to find out the graduation years of some of the teachers which I will probably email today or tomorrow to find out so I can finish that page up completely. I hope you all are having a great four day week so far and I also hope you doing eat all of ya Halloween candy :-)

It's taken me forever but I AM ALMOST FINISHED WITH THE TEACHER MUGS PAGE. I just have three names left that I need to fill in tomorrow!! Then I can start on the other three pages that I need to start on! I hope you all are getting your stuff done and doing what you need to because deadlines are deadlines and lawd you need to get stuff done as fast as possible!

Today in class I did nothing.. Just kidding :-) I handwrote the yearbook policy reminders for the first 20ish minutes of class.. Then I went on to work on my staff mug pages and I ended up finishing the teacher mug pages and filled it up w/ pictures and names! However, I need to finish the department pictures and names and then go on to work on the other two pages (staff w kids and teachers who graduated).

Today in class I went out to sell ads w/ my bud Alec! We went to a whole lot of places near iHop; unfortunately, everyone said no (to me). Only one person actually asked for further information that they could pass onto their bosses. So needless to say.. it's pretty hard to actually get people to buy an ad. It is extremely stressful because (I think) all the money is due next Thursday, or it might just be the pink sheets. Anyways! I hope you all are having a great week so far!

Today was make-up picture day! I literally did almost nothing all class and it was kind of a bummer. I helped people get dressed, went to lunch, delivered an SD card and typed up this blog post. It's not very exciting at all. Tomorrow I plan to start putting my spread on the computer if Zoe hasn't done so already and I desperately need to sell ads because they are due very soon :-))))

Week 7 - Blog 2

Hi all! I hope everyone's tests yesterday went well, and if you didn't take a test then I hope you had a lovely time in your classes :-) I'm currently sitting in my bed writing this and I'm extremely tired. Today in class I worked on designing the staff who graduated from MHS page and I am actually pretty impressed with the idea that I came up with! I also uploaded my photos from the soccer game yesterday and I took some good shots, but of course there are also pretty crappy ones. Pardew told me to use the preset Sports setting on the Canon but once it got darker out the shutter speed automatically adjusted to the lighting and couldn't capture the moving objects.

Helpful tip: if you're ever taking pictures for a sporting event make sure you have your shutter on about 1/160 or more and an ISO of about 1600. You can use Tv for that which automatically adjusts your aperture to the lighting around you. :-)

Today in class I got to upload pictures to the shared drive that were from CDs. I also started to work on designing the teachers who graduated from MHS page. There's about 17 who graduated from MHS and I'm trying to figure out how to make the page look weird. Today Isabella took pictures again, I want to give her a big shoutout because she's put a lot of effort into this spread. So other than taking pictures with Isabella I went with Alec to distribute senior picture day make-up reminders! Then also today the spread planners are due so I'm working on that at the moment :-)

Today in class I went to the lunches with Isabella to take pictures for the Spirit Week spread :-) I also went around with Alec to distribute senior picture information passes. Towards the end of class I started to work on my spread planners for V volleyball, JV volleyball and JV boy's soccer.

Today in class I worked on marking who took photos on picture day in the Index Listing, and I'm still not even done with the freshman class.. you guys really have a lot of kids. I also went on to work third and fourth lunch at magnolia with Brittany and today we had literally no one come up to anything. Tomorrow I plan on finishing up my staff layouts (hopefully) and then at 4PM I'm finally meeting with Hayes, who is in charge of my internship!

Forgot to post this yesterday --So, today in class we worked on selling books and sitting in lunches so that people could pick which photos they wanted. At the beginning of class I scanned books and continued to work on my Spirit Week spread. The scanner can be extremely frustrating at times but it's so useful. Today was pretty exciting. I found out last night that I was going to begin my photography internship with Strawbridge next week. Today I also finished up my layout for the teacher pages. It took a little bit of time and math but it was worth it and Cavicchia approved! Today I also had my photo day. I didn't take a lot of pictures, but the camera was acting weird with the lightning so it wouldn't have been worth it to take a lot of pictures. Plus all of my other classes were pretty boring.

I'm currently eating lunch and typing this blog post. If you care; I'm having buffalo chicken salad from the school :-) I find it delicious. Today in class I was pretty busy uploading photos to the shared drive that were on several cameras. Some of the photos weren't very good (too dark or blurry) but the dark ones could easily be fixed with a little touching-up.

     Today in class we worked on whatever we needed to work on whether it be ad selling, designing, or organizing. I organized the club list and made sure that all/most of the clubs are featured in the book. Also got Zoe to check my spread sketch and she gave some pretty good comments so I'm just going to redesign it when I get home tonight. I also have to start thinking of ideas for the Index and it's design. To the future me: I wish you great luck!

     Today in class we got the final style guide and, personally, I like it a lot! I also got my spread planner back from Sarah and she left me some good comments on what to add/improve to my ideas for the Spirit Week spread that Isabella and I are making. I ended up finishing the sketch when I got home today and I'm going to turn it into Grace mañana. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post pictures of our sketches, so I'm just not going to. Anyways, to whoever is reading this: make sure you stay organized and get things done!

     Today Isabella and I went out to sell ads! My only two businesses were Friendly Dental and Molly Malones. They both had to ask their region manager but they said they would get back to me, which is a pretty good sign. I was extremely worried about what I would say when I entered each business, but it ended up being pretty easy and it just flowed out of me. Shoutout to Isabella for meeting the $300 criteria! :-)

     Today the majority of people went out of class to go sell ads for the book while Alec, Manny, and I stayed in the room to talk Photogs with Cavicchia. I also uploaded photos from the tennis match yesterday that Isabella and Skylar took. This week I have to start filling out the Index listings and whatnot. Nothing was stressful today, and hopefully nothing will be tomorrow!

Week 1 - Blog 3

     Today during class we feasted on Panera and Krispy Kreme donuts ;-) We met with a man from Strawbridge and he did a pretty fantastic job describing what all we need to do when selling ads to businesses and corporations. He was very nice and helped make the process seem easier and less stressful, as I thought it was going to cause more stress. A skill that I have learned today was that you need to be friendly and kind in order to help influence an ad-sale and to also be positive! A special shoutout to Alec Linden as he has kept all of the photograph dates in order and put in a lot of work into making it organized!

     Today was yearbook picture day! I finished up photo day assignments and those will be given out to everyone tomorrow. This day in particular was probably the highlight of my week so far, as we got to take a group picture and take various other pictures which I found to be very enjoying. This week I have to work on photo day assignments, rubrics for those and then the photo logs. So far I only have one out of the three done. To the future me: make sure you keep track of all your stuff in a journal or a planner! :-)

Week 1 - Blog 1

     My name is Andrew Izzo! I enjoy photography, which is the main reason why I decided to join yearbook. I also joined yearbook to make new friends and to touch up skills in different areas. My position in yearbook is Index Editor and I am working on photography with Alec and Manny. As Index Editor I am in charge of developing the Index, and from what I have heard it is pretty time consuming, but I am always wiling to take up a challenge. A few of my time-passing hobbies include reading, sleeping, and of course taking pictures. I value everything I do and I will typically finish everything early or just on time. One of my main weaknesses is not liking to stand up in front of people and talk, however, I am usually good on one to one conversations. A few of my fears are spiders and snakes. On the other hand, my fears for this class are to not make something by deadline and disappointing Cavicchia. To each of you that wrote to me, you all seem very kind and I love that you all appreciate photography and for focusing on your future and I am positive you all will do amazing in the years to come!
